PWLLHELI
Pwllheli is the ideal location for exploring the Llyn Peninsula, one of the heartlands of Welsh language and culture. The town itself has all the facilities required of a modern seaside resort but still manages to maintain the charm of a rural market town and still has some of the atmosphere and flavour of a 50's holiday destination.

Pwllheli is an old historical market town and the chief town of the Llyn Peninsula. A Charter given by Edward III in the 14th century first established a market in the town. The market is held weekly every Wednesday on the 'Maes' in the town centre. It is one of the busiest markets in the country, with a wide selection of goods at competitive prices.

One of the main features of Pwllheli is it's Welshness and the language is always the predominant one heard on the street here whatever the season - there are a couple of good book shops and there is a well developed children's fairground on the Maes.

Pwllheli is at the end of the Mid-Wales railway line and is easily accessible by rail and road, and also has a well developed marina from which it is possible to book a boat ride to the nearby historic and beautiful Bardsey Island
