BARMOUTH:
Barmouth is a popular resort which still retains much of its nineteenth century charm and the superb waterfront and beach boast nearly two miles of sand and dunes.

There is a small family fairground on the promenade with a number of pubs and clubs catering for all ages. Barmouth is also self-sufficient in terms of shopping having a wide variety to cover all eventualities.

Every year in June Barmouth is the starting point of the three peaks race around Britain with teams competing to sail from Barmouth to Fort William with runners running up the highest peaks on the British mainland on their way. The quay also has the RNLI Lifeboat Museum and worth a visit is the Ty Crwn Roundhouse which used to be a prison but is now a local museum.

The estuary can only be crossed using the ferry service, but Barmouth has a wealth of quiet valleys and unexplored hills just behind it which is a treat for the less strenuous walker.

Barmouth is also well known for having its own version of the Lochness Monster, and sitings of the sea serpent are reported out in the bay from time to time.
