ABERSOCH
Abersoch
lies on the southern side of the Llyn Peninsula between two headlands
and has good views of St Tudwal Island and miles of long sandy
beaches, which are easily accessible for families and more adventurous
water enthusiasts as well. The village has a well-balanced and
interesting variety of shops and can cater for all your needs
from groceries to exotic goods and sports equipment. There is
also a good selection of pubs and clubs here and most of the hotels
in the village have achieved the highest accolades.
Abersoch
has claims to be the water-sports capital of north Wales and draws
thousands of visitors every year, whatever the season to make
use of the natural harbour and sand banks which stretch for two
or three miles into Cardigan Bay. It is an obvious spot to launch
any sea-going craft since the sandy beaches give way to choppy
and challenging seas - but has recovery facilities on hand of
the highest calibre. Abersoch was the intended site for sailing
competitions in Manchester's bid to hold the 2000 Olympics.
The
challenging 18 hole golf course, Pony Trekking and Riding , Shooting
and Archery, Wind Surfing and Water Skiing schools provide ample
opportunities for the novice or experienced sports person to try
their hand at a variety of other sports and is a good starting
point for walking the coast and observing wildlife.
