Lligwy
megalithic tomb
This tomb comprises a massive capstone, circa 40 tonnes in weight,
surmounting a subterranean chamber in which the remains of between
15 and 30 individuals had been interred in two separate stages
along with pottery offerings. It is possible that the chamber
was excavated in situ below the stone rather than it had been
brought to the site from the adjoining vicinity.
