Gwrach
Ynys
Gwynfor and Deborah Williams would like to welcome you to their home,
where they aim to offer guests an enjoyable and memorable stay in
a friendly Welsh atmosphere providing high quality comfortable accommodation
with good food at a reasonable price.
Gwrach
Ynys is a small holding, 2 miles north of Harlech, surrounded by
rural farmland, on the reclaimed marsh lands of Morfa Harlech. Up
to a few centuries ago the sea washed up to the foot of Harlech
Castle. The inhabitants of the time were forced to live on the five
islands which rose out of the marsh, the smallest of which being
Gwrach Ynys. Ynys meaning "island" in the Welsh language.
From the house we can view Harlech Castle (right) to the south over
the Rhinog mountains, the Moelwyns, Cnicht, and on to the Snowdon
Massif itself. The house is surrounded by an acre of lawned gardens
for the guests to unwind and relax in, and blow the cobwebs away
- or simply relax and enjoy the view from the patio. There is ample
parking space available.
