Dinas
Farm
Dinas Farm until the end of the 1960's belonged to Lord Snowdon's
family and is now a family run dairy farm with a 150 strong Holstein-Friesian
herd. Guests are offered an unique insight into farm life, from
observing at milking times to watching calves being born in paddocks
near the farmhouse. The farm is situated three miles south of the
Royal town of Caernarfon in the heart of beautiful Snowdonia providing
an excellent base for touring the area.
The
nearest beach is at Dinas Dinlle, 4 miles away and the village of
Llanberis and the start of the Snowdon train is approx. 9 miles.
Within easy walking distance from the farmhouse is the Dinas station
of the Welsh Highland Railway which runs to Caernarfon (northwards)
and to Waunfawr (southwards). The local shop and post office is
1 mile at the village of Bontnewydd and the local pub 'The Mount
Pleasant' is within walking distance from the farm at Dinas. The
farmhouse itself is situated a few hundred yards from the actual
farm and is surrounded by an enclosed private garden, thus providing
a safe area for children to play. Excellent access with concrete
drive and ample parking space.
